Being a mom is the most important role that many of us play in our lives. It takes knowledge, talent and skills to perform this important role of a mom.  As a mother, we are responsible for the physical and emotional well being of the children, teaching the discipline, morals, attitudes and social adjustment.  In all, we are completely responsible for the baby, toddler, child, teen and young adult as they go through life.  When women become mothers, we become much focused in taking care of our children and tend to lose sight of ourselves as individuals.

As you go about being a mother, have any of the following questions crossed your mind?

  • Are you thinking of returning to work after being a stay–at-home-mom?
  • Do you wonder, can you work and still be able to spend time with your children?
  • As a working-mom, are you finding it difficult to get organized and stay on top of everything?
  • As a work-from-home-mom, is it hard to structure your time so that you can complete your work?
  • Are you always taking care of others and wish you had more time to yourself?
  • Do you feel like you need to get balance between different areas of your life?

Do you need more support energy and confidence?

Coaching can help… Just ask Laura

Laura is a busy stay-at-home mother.  She has two children, the youngest who is starting preschool, while the oldest is already in the first grade.  Laura has been thinking about going back to work for a quite sometime but she is uncertain where she should start.  She has some ideas, but she is really not sure how she transition into the working world, or what changes would accompany working again.  Laura was a teacher before she decided to stay-at- home to raise the kids.  Laura considers returning to teaching but is not sure she is ready to cope with the demands of teaching, grading and lesson plans it involves.

Laura approached me with her dilemma.  I worked with her in the capacity of a coach and helped her, not only to figure out her new goals in life but also assisted her in developing a road map to get there.  Laura needed assistance in moving from broad ideas she was passionate about to concrete suggestions.  She needed guidance in ways to identify available opportunities and someone to validate her ideas and encourage her to pursue opportunities.  She needed someone to support her in the small steps as she worked towards her new goals.  Coaching helped Laura target what she wanted to do and now she is working at a florist’s shop, where she is able to integrate her knowledge, talents and passion for creating beautiful pieces of art.
